Conducting psychological assessments

Problem:

Respond to this discussion post in a few sentences and ask a question. When conducting psychological assessments, culture is relevant because it offers a complex insight into how each individual behaves, as it is one of the earliest forms of guidance, values, and assumptions. When reading more about culture and understanding that it applies to more than just race or ethnicity, and how it can show up in language as well, one instance that came to mind was African-American vernacular English. It is a language with its own phonics and dialect, which has been around for hundreds of years and can often be misinterpreted as simply slang. Having this knowledge is very critical when conducting assessments because it is necessary for the assessor to have an understanding that everybody is individually unique, and no assessment is a one-size-fits-all; there are many complex elements that play a role in why, and an individual may select a certain answer or perform in a certain manner due to their individual culture. Research aims to create a culture-free assessment; however, this has not yet been fully realized, as culture is embedded in one's vocabulary, conceptual knowledge, and even specific feelings, making it difficult to create one. Trying to find a common thread among many cultures. Need Assignment Help?
