Clinical examination of the surgical site

Problem: At the time of the first week postsurgical visit, you note that a patient who had undergone flap for access surgery has a temperature of 101.5 F and a pulse rate of 70 beats per minute. Clinical examination of the surgical site reveals that the satires are in place, but there appears to be a good deal of swelling in one part of flap. How should you proceed?
