Activation of Adaptive Immunity

Activation of Adaptive Immunity:

Each and every antigen is processed by antigen presenting cells (APC), such as macrophages, B lymphocytes and dentric cells. The processed antigen is represented on the surface of such cells. A subgroup of T cells termed as T helper cells particularly interacts with the presented antigen and becomes activated. The activated T helper cells then activate B cells, and a subgroup of T cells termed as cytotoxic lymphocytes (i.e., CTLs), in a specific way. The activated B and cytotoxic lymphocytes proliferate to generate clones. All the cells of a clone can identify similar antigen and remove it.
