If the slot's centre is in line with the mica, refer the bar to the right of the mica as bar number1. Connection of winding ends with the commutator segments.

Later than winding the armature, the end leads of the armature conductors are laced in the slits of the commutator raisers. (Raiser slits have to be appropriately cleaned and well reared to receive the conductors.)

For safe and good electrical contact, these conductors are well cleaned to eliminate insulation and dirt. After that the conductor ends are laced in the particular raiser slits and soldered brazed / hot-stacked.
