Introduction to Electric Kettle
Electrical kettle is employed to heat small quantity of water. The heating element is set in the kettle. While electric supply is provided to the heating element, it gets heated and therefore water in the kettle gets heated because of convection.
There are 2 types of Electric Kettle:
i) Swan neck type
ii) Saucepan type
Swan neck type:
In this type of electrical kettle, the heating element is of tubular immersion type as displayed in the below diagram. It is concealed in a mineral insulated and hollow tube. The heating element is build up of Nichrome coated around with magnesium oxide to make sure that the element does not straight touch the wall of the kettle body. The heating element is set at the kettle's bottom.
