Variation of the Receptacle:
In few situations, internodes become elongated and distinct. The elongated internode among the corolla and calyx is the anthophore as in Caryophyllaceae.
The internode lengthened between the corolla and androecium is termed as the androphore example: Passiflora (family-Passifloraceae).
The elongated internode among androecium and gynoecium is termed as the gynophore as in Capparis [Capparidaceae]. Whenever both androphore and gynophore are existed, they are termed as androgynophore or gynandrophore. Example: Gynandropsis. Whenever the thalamus is prolongated beyond the ovary, it is termed as carpophore as in the Coriander, Foeniculum and so on.
