Human resource planning is a double edged weapon. If employed appropriately, it leads to the maximum utilization of human resources, lessens excessive labor turnover and high absenteeism; develops productivity and assists in attaining the objectives of an organization. Faultily employed, it leads to disruption in the flow of work, less job satisfaction, lower production, high cost of production and constant headaches for management personnel. Thus, for the success of an enterprise, human resource planning is an extremely significant function, which can be neglected only at its own threat.
