Glial cells and neurons are the cells which form nervous system. Neurons are cells which encompass the function of transmitting and getting neural impulses and glial cells (microgliacytes, astrocytes, ependymal cells and oligodendro-cytes) are the cells which support, insulate and feed (electrically) neurons. The Schwann cells which generate the myelin sheath of peripheral nervous system can also be considered the glial cells.
