(b) The value of RB needed to keep a base overdrive factor of σ = 3 while RC = 2.5kΩ and βF = 40.

(c) The minimum value of βF needed to guarantee an overdrive factor of σ = 5 while RC = 500Ω as well as RB = 20kΩ.
