In signal, if a certain signal pattern repeats again and again over a time period in a systematic manner, it is known as a periodic signal . For example:

Periodic signal:  x (t + T) = x (t).

In signal, if the signal pattern does not reiterate itself over a period of time it is termed as Aperiodic signal . For example:

Aperiodic signal: x (t + T) ≠ x (t).
