Radio frequency (RF) is a frequency or the rate of oscillation in the range of around 3 Hz to 300 GHz. This range corresponds to the frequency of alternating current electrical signals employed to generate and detect radio waves. As most of this range is beyond the vibration rate that most of the mechanical systems can respond to, RF generally refers to the oscillations in electrical circuits or electromagnetic radiation.
