Elementary signals are considered as building block for the generation of more complex signals. They are significant in their own right, in that they can be used to model several physical signals which happen in nature.

There exist five elementary signals as given below:

a) Unit step function

b) Exponential function

c) Unit impulse function Ramp function

d) Sinusoidal function
