In a paint application, there are chiefly three main components of paint:
a) Primer
b) Undercoat
c) Finishing coat.
Primer: Primer is the first layer of a painting system and the basic purpose of primer is to inhabit corrosion and offer a good bond for Undercoat and Finishing coats.
Undercoat: This component works as an obstruction to corrosion agents and balances out irregularities of bonding surface.
Finishing coat: Finishing coat is the last layer of a painting system and it defends the underlying layers (Primer and Undercoat) from the effect of unfavourable weather conditions and to supplies the designed properties of paint.
