The combined I.L.O/W.H.O Committee on Organisational Health has defined industrial health as: 
i)  The prevention and protection of physical, mental and social well-being of workforce in all jobs.
ii)   Prevention among workforce of ill-health caused by the work environment.
iii)  Protection of workforce in their service from risks resulting from factors unfavourable to health.
iv)  Introduction and maintenance of the worker in a work-related environment adapted to his physical and mental equipment.
