Assignment Task: Choose one of the following readings- "Editha," or "Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge and make one or two in-depth observations about it. This requires you to think critically and analyze what takes place in the story and to use details from the story to prove your points. You may choose a quotation, symbol, theme, conflict, or motif (Consult the glossary if you are unfamiliar with these literary terms.) as the basis for your response or you may choose to analyze one of the characters (avoid repeating my lecture). THE POINT is to analyze something about the work in depth. DO NOT write a plot summary. Be detailed and give me a well-developed paragraph or two. Begin by identifying the work you are discussing. For example: You might choose to identify a theme and then demonstrate how it is supported through the events in the story.
