Your Presentation must accomplish the following:
Appropriate Length is 7 - 10 slides.
Presentation will include an introduction, body, conclusion, and properly formatted reference/work cited slide in the citation style of your degree program (APA, MLA, or Chicago).
All information should appear on the presentation slides - Do not use the notes section of PowerPoint and do not include an audio file, or submit a summary. Submit only a PowerPoint.
Incorporate visual elements such as images, graphs, and charts to enhance your presentation and engage the audience. Also, consider using a colorful or unique template.
Charts, graphs and images do not count as one of the three required sources. They are intended to support the information you present on your topic and should be offered in addition to the main information you include.
Three (3) credible sources are required.
At least one (1) of the three sources must be scholarly and from the library.
Do not include more than six sources cited in your presentation.
Company websites do not qualify as one of the three required sources.
Dictionary and encyclopedia sites like Wikipedia and blogs do not count as one of the three main sources.
The Golden Rule of Citing: You Must All Information That Is Not Common Knowledge To The General Public.
Use a signal phrase to cite your sources: According to, ______,
DO NOT include a full reference for a source at the bottom of the slide.
- Placing a citation or reference at the bottom of the slide does not qualify as correct citing and will suffer steep penalties.
Include citations after each and every bullet. If it's the same source for all bullets, begin with a signal phrase at the top of the slide, According to (name of source), and then end with a citation after the last bullet.
Always Cite The Very First Thing That Appears In The Reference Listing, usually the author's last name.
Citations and reference listings must be a mirror reflection of one another.
Do Not List Only A Website For Your Citations Or Reference Listings! This is not adequate and will result in penalties.
Include Two Reference Pages at the end of your presentation:
*one for sources
*one for images
Reference Pages should be alphabetized. Do not number or use bullets.
Make your presentation YOURS! Write using your own words and ideas, and be careful not to over-cite or over-quote! At least 60% of your presentation should be your words and ideas. Information from sources is secondary, no more than 40% of your presentation.
Demonstrating the ability to include information from three credible sources and cite them correctly is the main objective of this assignment. Presentations that do not cite sources correctly will suffer additional penalties, and only those that include and cite information from three sources on individual slides throughout their presentation will earn a passing grade.
