Problem

Joseph a 68- year -old retired manager, has a 30-year history of type 2 diabetes mellitus that is diet controlled. He has observed that over the past several years he has lost some of the sensation in his lower extremities and the size of his leg muscles has noticeably decreased (most likely secondary to peripheral vascular disease). In addition, last year, he was diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He has difficulty urinating - it takes him longer to urinate, he has to urinate more often, and the urinary stream is slower.

If you examined laboratory results of Joseph's prostate tissue that showed the presence of dysplasia, would you be concerned? If yes, explain why.
