Why you think she is right or disagree with nelly

Problem

Negative Nelly comes up to you and says "I don't get all the fuss about why interrupts are so good! I mean, a processor has to poll the interrupt wire to see if an interrupt happens, and so it's like polling every instruction, and on top of that it requires hardware support inside the processor! We should just use regular polling to see when the devices need attention!"

What do you think?

You can either: agree with Nelly and say why you think she's right (basically explaining why interrupts are a bad idea), or disagree with Nelly, and say why you think she's wrong (explaining what interrupts can provide that polling can't.)
