Why u.s healthcare system is impacted by lack of support

Assignment task:

The expense of healthcare has always been a popular political topic, involving everything from health insurance to the cost of prescription drugs. The reason for that is because 18% of the country's gross, $3.7 trillion was spent on health-care products and services in 2018. The problem affects a lot of government programs, the most common are Medicaid and Medicare.  These government programs are usually for 65 years of age and older (USA Facts, 2019). These Government institutions have state and health agencies that provide services like laboratory testing and health surveillance, illness treatment and screenings. Private healthcare is long-term care or residential care, mental health, home care, inpatient or outpatient care, ambulatory care, or alternative medical settings, like wellness centers. Private institutions can either be profit or non-profit. Still, with all the Government programs the U.S still has poor health outcomes, including low life expectancy and high suicide rates. Obesity is also a very big problem in the U.S, but as a country we are not doing our part. The reality is people are not receiving timely, high-quality care, and many of the situations are avoidable (White, 2020).

The U.S healthcare system is impacted by lack of adequate support for the right to health given by the insurance system. Every person who is living in the U.S should have this right. U.S Healthcare should focus on the care of all people. Primary preventative care should be affordable for everyone. Which is what my health care reform solution would be. A basic government provided healthcare for everyone living in the United States. Meaning, from the time you were born in the U.S, you are insured. The positives of government-funded healthcare could be free choice of doctors and hospitals, no bills, no co-pays or deductibles, no exclusions from pre-existing conditions and no deaths from no insurance. This would have a huge effect on healthcare reform (Damiano, 2019). In the U.S the more money you have, the better the treatment options. My healthcare reform may cause a decrease in patients to freely choose from a wide variety of treatment options, medications and surgical procedures offered today by doctors that have a higher price range. Doctors may also not be on board due to lack of compensation (White, 2020).
