Somatoform disorders can be difficult to diagnose due to the internal nature of the symptoms that can be determined to be fake, imagined, exaggerated, or very real, triggered by external factors such as stress or other psychological disorders. Regardless of which disorder within this category, symptoms can be so significant that they interrupt daily functioning.
