Problem:
Socrates Fortlow expresses himself in a very similar way to the philosopher Socrates when it comes to truth. He puts himself in situations that allow him to show his moral upper hand, just as the original Socrates did with the people of Athens. Socrates Fortlow rejects ideologies similar to those of natural philosophers and, on the other side of the coin, sophists. As the video states, natural philosophers practice "truth without relevance" while sophists practice "relevance without truth." His moral battle with Wilfred at Lula's paints Wilfred as a sophist. It is clear that he is attempting to give salience to his way of living compared to Socrates's. Socrates also stands up to Howard, a man acting like a natural philosopher in that he uses facts to try and justify leaving his family- truth without relevance.
When thinking of how names are used in the movie, Socrates is the leading example.
