Thesis statement: School age children are struggling post pandemic due to an increase in mental health issues, a lack of resources and family trauma.
I want to support my thesis statement. But how can I paraphrase this quote to support my thesis?
Paraphrase: "The academic ages are divided into two age groups. The first group of children in this category is ages 6 to 11 years. This age group, according to Erik Erikson, is working through the Industry vs. Inferiority stage of development. The virtue they obtain when successfully maturing through this stage is Competence. This age group begins to rely on their peer groups in school and in outside activities of recognition of their accomplishments. No longer is the caregiver the only relationship that is important to this child. This child wants to feel and have a sense of mastery of the skills they have set forth to achieve. This is a critical time for learning, and failure in any activity or relationship leaves the child with a sense of inferiority."
