Why schizophrenia is very challenging

Hi good morning, Tina,

Thank you for your post, I enjoy reading your posts. I have worked with mental health for over a decade and within that decade I can say that Schizophrenia is very challenging, but in my experience, it has not equated to danger, but I do understand your point of view. I feel that people often assume there's a threat, but that's mostly because of how movies and news stories play into old stereotypes that don't reflect reality.  I can say that treatment is great. When individuals are supported by education, medication, and solid coping skills, they can navigate their hallucinations effectively. When an individual is not treated then yes danger is there due to the individual not being educated on how to manage symptoms of their diagnosis. To ensure this effectiveness they must have a high level of care then within the progress of the level  of care and a new assessment their level of care can be lowered. Today's mental health goals are about reducing a person's distress and improving their quality of life, rather than just silencing their symptoms. I really also enjoyed what you mentioned:  My new understanding will influence future practice with people who hear voices by encouraging the client to engage with their voices rather than suppress or ignore them. I loved how you mentioned it. Thank you so much for seeing it from a different perspective. Need Assignment Help?
