Suppose that you're in charge of government relations for the National Corn Growers Association and that several members want you to increase lobbying efforts to get Congress to increase the subsidy given to ethanol fuels. Since these are made from corn, they believe the subsidies will raise the price of corn and so increase the profits earned by farmers. Why might you be skeptical of that claim?
