Why is it important for managers to be knowledgeable

Assignment task: Kyle Crawford has been a team leader for the League for the Blind and Disabled. Recently, some of Crawford's team members complained about another team member, Kaylee about her slow work pace and her failure to keep up with the needs of the clients. Kaylee is a good employee who always shows up to work on time.

Clients do not like to wait beyond their scheduled appointment time with Kaylee. Paige Mora, one of the team members told Kyle, the team leader: "Dorothy Craig has spent an excessive amount of time instructing Kaylee on some of the more effective ways to do the job. Even that hasn't worked! Maybe she is just too fat!"

Kaylee suffers from schizophrenia and takes medication that treats her schizophrenia. One of the side effects of the medication is weight gain. Kaylee is also legally blind.

Kaylee had joined the team 3 years ago. Her weight has ballooned in the past 2 years due to her medication. Management is aware of Kaylee's medical condition and that she is legally blind, however there no medical documentation on file.
