Throughout each project life cycle, lessons are learned and opportunities for improvement are discovered. As part of a continuous improvement process, documenting lessons learned helps the project team discovers the root causes of problems that occurred to avoid these problems in later project stages or future projects.

1. Set one SMART goal for yourself for the next year that relates to your degree (ITBS or Cybersecurity) using the correct SMART goals approach shown in this week's lesson. Helpful hint: use the examples provided to create your own.
2. Why are lessons learned so important to project management, and what is the proper way to document these lessons learned?
