Anarchists, anti-fascists, and other like-minded extremists orchestrated 20 percent of the plots and attacks, though the number of incidents grew from previous years as these extremists targeted law enforcement, military, and government facilities and personnel. Momentum is building in Congress for legislation to deal with domestic terrorism. Several bills already have been introduced. The mob attack on the Capitol on January 6, which some analysts argue met the definition of terrorism, added a sense of urgency. Discuss the pros and cons of passing a separate domestic terrorism bill.
