Assignment task: It can be of any religion covered in this course (only western religions are allowed). The religion you research cannot be one in which you were raised or participated in the past. In this proposal, you are to mention whether you are going to do primarily library research, or whether you will attend a service in that tradition or interview a practitioner.
Your proposal should cover, but is not limited to, the following:
1. Which religion do you plan to write about? Why are you interested in this religion?
2. Why do you feel this religion is significant/worthy of study?
3. What might your tentative thesis statement be?
4. What are your main ideas for your body paragraphs?
5. What is your tentative plan for research?
- For library research, state two possible sources for your paper
- If you plan to interview a practitioner, please list a plan for how you will make contact with this individual and when you plan to interview him/her. Additionally, list a few questions you could potentially ask this person.
- If you plan to attend a service, please describe where and when you plan to attend, and what you hope to learn.
