Think of your own personal narrative. Discuss characteristics of your self-identified culture (ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender, and other demographic information) that you feel comfortable sharing.
Which facets of your personal description impact your sense of self, either positively or negatively? How does your family's cultural story influence how you interact with others? What learned behaviors or responses do you exhibit in your interactions? How do you envision that these differences in cultural self-identity between you and your clients impact the therapeutic relationship?
