Stella's own parents divorced when she was young, and though she wanted to live with her father, the courts awarded custody to her mother.
As an adolescent, Stella attended a religious school that emphasized the importance of families staying together - a messages that has stuck with her ever since. Stella always felt judged by her peers because of her familial situation - a feeling that led her to become introverted and shy. Now, Stella is trying to save her marriage and is seeking help from a psychologist. She is optimistic that she and her husband can remedy their differences.
