A numbers of years ago, Target decided to go from a domestic company to an international company as they expanded into Canadian in a big way. Their strategy was to open about 173 stores and five distribution centers to support those stores. About three to five years later they announced that they were not successful as sales were below forecasted and thus they were pulling out of Canadian, which has cost Target millions of dollars to extract themselves from Canada?
