Discussion Post: The Stairway to Heaven
The all-time famous rock song that did not make a big hit over the charts is "The Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. The song was never released for the general public as a single. Promotional singles were received by radio singles, which at a fast rate became the items for the collectors. However, in the year 2007, Led Zeppelin's total catalogue back was purposely made available as a legal download from digital surrounding making every track to be eligible for the charts of UK singles. Plant, the producer of the song spent most of his time in 1970s by answering questions on the written lyrics for the song. The popularity of the song as per the producer however lied in its abstract nature that kept adding as the song continued towards its end. The song further also evokes different feelings depending upon the mood of a person in a day (Creswell, 2005). I myself have experienced abstract addition of beautiful lyrics of this song and that is why I have selected this song for analysis.
