Problem
In past semesters, as students have completed the Virtual Lab application assignments, the question always arises - why can't there be one software application that does all of these functions? While I believe there are software companies working on this issue, it may help to put this question into perspective by asking the following, "How many software programs do you use regularly?" I use Word, Excel, Quickbooks, Access, Powerpoint, and many others on a regular basis. Yes, it would be nice if they were all-in-one (I think!) but different applications are created to handle different functions. It's just the same in the HIM world -- so many functions are required -- so different applications are used! So, which applications do you use on a weekly basis in your everyday life? Do you believe it would work if they were all-in-one?
