What you feel is another good way to assist lgbtq+ youth

Question: What do you feel is another good way to assist our LGBTQ+ youth?

This is my DB post. Can you elaborate more on my subject and answer my question please?

LGBTQ+ youth have faced discrimination for many years. According to a survey posted by Morgridge University, 31.3% of LGBTQ students reported being "disciplined for public displays of affection that were not disciplined among non-LGBTQ students" and 22.6% reported being "prevented from wearing clothes considered 'inappropriate' based on their legal sex". (What challenges do queer students face? 2020) This is just a couple of the forms of discriminatory practice that have been implemented in schools. Many LGBTQ+ students are reprimanded for displaying their sexuality proudly. This is what causes issues such as staying closeted for far too long and internalized homophobia. As human service workers, we can help these youth by using their preferred name and pronouns and also by celebrating who they are as individuals. We have the ability to educate ourselves and implement practices that can help our LGBTQ+ clients know that they are valid and accepted. One amazing resource that we can also provide to clients is The Trevor Project. This organization has a text line, a hotline number, and an online messaging service to assist LGBTQ+ youth in crisis. This organization also helps to assure the safety of these youth and provide resources for housing and other needs.
