In fire and emergency services (FES) organizations, ethical behavior encompasses a wide range of behavior, and firefighters make subjective decisions every day that could lead to an ethical allegation. Do you believe a formalized code of ethics should be developed by a national organization that would hold FES personnel to a standard? Consider if personnel violated their certification or license; could their certification be revoked? Why, or why not? What would you do to develop a formalized code of ethics?
