David works part-time at the recycling plant form 9 a.m. to 12 noon. David works with one other person at a sorting table. It is David's job to take newspaper from a large box on a pallet and sort it into smaller boxesarranged on a long table.

David's supervisor at the recycling plant is concerned about David's work ethic - particularly that he will lose concentration and not engage in his work. You inform the agency supervisor and she recommend you observe David for a one-hour duration of his shift

You have been working with this agency for approximately three months. During this time, you have created some very positive working relationships with the participants and with the staff. Today, Sunday, your shift was from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You, and your three co-workers and especially the residents had a great day today! It was a beautiful day outside as you all enjoyed many activities. You had tremendous fun doing all the activities that a typical Sunday would bring. There were a few minor incidents along the way, but you and the staff were able to handle them. As your twelve-hour shift ends, you are sitting at thedining room table thinking about what you need to include in your shift report.

Question IV

You are working as a Disability Support Worker in a group home for young men diagnosed with intellectual disabilities. The group home has six residents. The residents enjoy daily tasks such as chores, cleaning their rooms, sweeping the kitchen area, tending to the yard, and taking out the garbage. One of the residents, Jack, does not enjoy doing any of these daily tasks. Jack gets quite angry with you when he is asked toclean his room, forexample. He threatens to hit you and he calls you names. During this time, Jack will slam his bedroom door in your face. You have been advised by your co-workers that it is best for Jack to be left alone in his room playing videogames.

The group home manager has set up a meeting with you, two of your co-workers, and of course, Jack. The purpose of the meeting is to create a SMART goal for Jack.
