Task
What were the underlying causes of World War II? Select one event that you think irrevocably led the world (and the U.S.) to war more than any other event. Argue your selection with details that support your answer.
Lesson:
"The instability created in Europe by the First World War (1914-18) set the stage for another international conflict-World War II-which broke out two decades later and would prove even more devastating" (History.com, 2018, para. 1). Adolf Hitler had risen to power as the dictator of Germany. His invasion of Poland caused Britain and France to declare war on Germany. In the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was president during the invasion. This week you will be discussing events which led the United States into World War II and arguing your answer.
