American Revolution:

There were many obstacles that America was facing with the Britain. The American Revolution was one of them. The war started in 1775 and by 1777 the British overtook Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to conquering the City of Brotherly Love, the British invaded New York. George Washington along with his army led victories in Trenton and Princeton, New Jersey. "In early 1778, the French agreed to recognize American independence and formed a permanent alliance with the new nation" (U.S. History.org, 2018, para. 8). The war did end in 1781 when the British were defeated in Virginia making America independent.
