What that means is that it is not something that a person

Many in the world reject any truth other than their own truth. Many subjectively determine truth as what fits them for their lives and even just for the moment. Christianity rests on objective truths that form the basis of a faith expression that does claim truth. How can Christians take their truth claims and respond to a world that rejects objective truth in favor of the subjectivity of the day-to-day?

Assume that the Christian truth claim is subjective. What that means is that it is not something that a person can observe, measure, or touch. It is "subject" to one's understanding of reality.

Make the claim more objective. This can be done through a recitation of facts established through science or through data collection and analysis; or by the use of sound reasoning. Citing a Bible verse in support of the truth claim is not a valid manner of objectifying the claim!

Here is an example of how it should look

Truth Claim

Objectifying

1.  The Bible is the Word of God.

If you believe in the existence of a god-any god-there are two alternatives.  Either the god is mysterious and unrevealed, or he is knowable because he reveals himself to us humans.  An "unknowable" god is, by definition, unable to be known.  Therefore, no one can claim to know anything about an unknowable god.

The other alternative is that God is knowable.  If God is knowable, then there must be a way to know Him.  A knowable God must want people to know what he is like; therefore, he must reveal himself to people.  Throughout human history, millions of people have come to know God through the Bible.  If the Bible is God's self-revelation, then the Bible must be the Word of God.

Another way to objectify a truth claim is to recite facts that prove the truth of the claim. Many Christian truth claims are supported by facts - for example, the death of Christ is a demonstrable fact based on historical evidence.
