Compose a written communication based on your Strategic Communications Plan.
Part A
I. Develop your written communication.
i. State your key message clearly.
a. Do not "bury the headline"-the main point should be presented directly.
b. Your key message must be clear and concise.
ii. Provide the necessary information and build credibility.
a. Provide an appropriate amount of background information for the audience, given the type of communication.
b. Get to the point without unnecessary verbiage.
c. Build your position as an expert or trusted colleague.
iii. Support your key message with three or four supporting points or reasons.
a. Supporting points should be appropriate for the context and needs of the audience.
b. Reasons should be compelling and relevant.
iv. Employ either the tell/sell or consult/join techniques.
v. Clearly relay to the audience an actionable request.
II. Write professionally.
i. Communication should be clear and concise.
ii. Communication should build logically.
iii. Sentences should flow smoothly, using appropriate transitions and varying sentence structure.
iv. Employ appropriate formatting for ease of reading and clarity of message (headers, bullet points, etc.).
III. Demonstrate professional presence.
i. Be authentic and genuine in your communication.
ii. Use the appropriate tone and vocabulary for your audience.
iii. Establish rapport to connect with your audience and grow the relationship.
Part B
I. Channel and style.
i. Explain why you chose the specific channel you used for the written communication.
ii. Explain what style you employed in your written communication (tell/sell, consult/join) and why.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
