What role does the past play in Southeast Asia today?
This is a deceptively simple question! Please make sure that the argument and discussion in the intro, body, and conclusion answer, or in some way support the answer to, this question. Be as specific, and compare different countries to help make the case. Saying "the past influences the present" is not enough-- explain how the past plays a role in the SE Asian present.
