The reading in Ballpoint on "Remix and Remediation" asks you to "[p]ay attention to the affordances and constraints of this process." Affordances are the things you can do--what is allowed by, what is possible, in a particular medium or mode. Constraints are the limitations--what is not allowed by, or possible in, a particular medium or mode. These are not "good" or "bad." Rather it is reality for all things in life; an awareness of, and the ability to work within, affordances and constraints is the key to success. Compare and contrast the experience of reading/viewing these two sources. Include likes and dislikes, but also consider affordances and constraints. Discuss both in both. Reflect on the affordances and constraints in each of the media and modes used in the two sources above. Identify as much as possible about what is--and what is not--possible and effective in each case.
