What post-translational translocation means

Problem: Post-translational translocation means the entire protein is synthesized first in the cytosol, then moved into its target compartment after translation is complete (e.g., mitochondria, nucleus). Lysosomal proteins, although modified post-translationally (e.g., M6P tagging in the Golgi), are not translocated post-translationally into lysosomes from the cytosol. Instead: They are first co-translationally inserted into the ER. Then they follow the secretory pathway via vesicular trafficking: ER → Golgi → endosomes → lysosomes. Need Assignment Help?
