Problem
A school clinic was identified as a proposed site for an EBP QI project. The clinic is in a public high school that sees about 10 students as the patient population for different minor ailments on daily basis. The mission is to administer first aid treatment to students of a high school with the majority as immigrants from different countries of low socioeconomic status while on campus. The high school is a county High school that is unique in that community.
1) What might be the strengths and weaknesses to use this site for an EBP QI project? Who are the stakeholders whose approval would be required to initiate an EBP QI project and implement the results?
2) The practice problem I identified is poor mental health from PTSD and the need for annual mental health evaluations by school nurses.
3) Explain how I can Introduce to stakeholders that a change or changes are needed in quality improvement to benefit students' mental health improvement.
