Assignment task: The main objective of strategic management is to help organizations achieve their goals and objectives and succeed. Strategic management offers a roadmap so that all different levels of the organization work together to accomplish short-term and long-term objectives and goals. Operational managers also contribute significantly to the process through the implementation of programs and projects that are aligned with the strategy. Organizations that identify strategic option and design their plans around the strategy chosen are more likely to achieve success and be more profitable than those organizations that do not have a clear roadmap that defines where they are headed.
All processes are critical to the success of the strategy including situational analysis (environmental scanning), strategy formulation, strategy implementation and monitoring and control. It is not enough to have a great strategy if it's not implemented properly.
