Newer generations have been encouraged from a young age to step into leadership roles and develop a leadership mindset, even in everyday situations. In the past, decision-making and authority were usually held by a small group of people, but now leadership is more spread out. This can help reduce corruption, since power isn't concentrated in just a few hands, and it also encourages more transparency and shared responsibility.
At the same time, the rise of social media has dramatically changed how people are exposed to information and ideas. People can now see many different perspectives, but this also means opinions especially political ones can be shaped by a single video or post that may lack context or accuracy. While this can lead to misinformation or oversimplified views, it reflects a broader challenge of navigating an environment with constant and rapid information flow.
Another noticeable shift is that leadership is no longer permanent. Influence comes in waves someone may lead one conversation, movement, or moment, and then fade as new voices take over. This constant change allows more people to participate but can also make leadership unstable. Instead of long-term figures guiding society. Which can again prevent corruption?
It is not perfect, however the earlier generations had even less access to information, and what was available was often controlled or incomplete. People now have the ability to compare sources, question narratives, and hear different sides of an issue.
Overall, today's leadership culture values adaptability, collaboration, and visibility over strict hierarchy. Influence is shared, constantly shifting, and often driven by storytelling and perspective rather than authority alone. While this can create confusion or misinformation, it also allows new voices to emerge and power to be spread more evenly.
