According to evolutionary psychology, self-interested individuals have evolved mechanisms such as cheating to trick altruists into providing help that will never be returned. Altruists have evolved mechanisms such as facial recognition to defeat cheaters. If you are working in a student work group, what do you do with "free riders" who hope/expect to receive the same credit as the rest of the group without making an equal contribution? What kinds of value would you attribute to such people?
