Comparing the origins of African and indigenous religions to present-day practices and values, what does this comparison say about the cultural assimilation of BIPOC people in the US? What does it say about US social and governmental institutions in relation to hegemony? Furthermore, should hegemony and cultural assimilation of marginalized groups continue? If so, why? If not, what can be done to stop it?
