Assignment task:
One of the fascinating aspects of decision bias is that consumers rarely think they are influenced by them. Don't believe me? Well.....for the discussion board this week, let's think about potential ways your decisions may have been biased!
First, watch a quick video on one of my absolute favorite decision biases of all time and answer the following questions:
YouTube Video: Why incompetent people think they're amazing - David Dunning
1. What is the 'Dunning-Kruger effect'? Need Assignment Help?
2. Why is it that people don't recognize their inabilities or shortcomings?
3. How can we reduce the effect of this bias in our self-perceptions?
Second, let's evaluate some of your recent decisions for possible bias:
1. Think back on some of your most recent decisions. List two decisions that were very important and two decisions that were not very important.
2. Which bias of the six discussed in the lecture could have influenced your decision? How so? Is the bias more likely to impact the decisions that are either high or low in importance?
3. What could you have done to present that bias from altering your choice?
