1. What is happening in the advertisement? Where does the scene take place?
2. Who are the people or subjects in the ad? What are they doing?
3. What is the emotional effect of the objects/people in the image?
4. What is the social significance (class, economic, status, lifestyle, values) of the objects/things in the ad?
5. What cultural values are brought into play in this ad?
6. What beliefs or values to you bring to this ad? How does that influence the way you view it?
7. How does the position of the figures in the ad signal importance?
8. What features of the document design (font size, color, placement on page, lettering, of words) stand out? What effect does that have?
9. What is the advertisement persuading you to do or buy?
10. Who is the target audience? How persuasive is the ad to the target audience?
11. What does this advertisement say about what we value as a society?
